Seal Quality Inspection System
ISSUE
A contract drug manufacturer and packager suffered multiple $1 million waste events due to failed seals of parenteral vials.
RESOLUTION
Inland designed, built, installed, and provided IQ and OQ protocols for a machine vision system that verifies the seal quality of each vial produced. Operators are now immediately notified of seal defects, eliminating the potential for large waste events.
Part Inspection Station
ISSUE
A Tier 3 automotive supplier was adding a new production line to their facility which was similar to an existing line but to process a different size part. The new line would need to be equipped with an inspection system to verify the assembly of the new part, similar to that of the previous production line.
RESOLUTION
Inland made modifications to the design of the existing inspection system to accommodate the new production line and part size, modified the system program and preformed all commissioning work. The new system measures 28 different physical part dimensions at up to 20 micron repeatability to verify that each part meets specifications.
